NBI® Netball Instrument

The NBI® Netball profile identifies the thinking preferences of the netball player. It gives insight into the way netball players prefer to think during the game and about the game. And it also makes them more aware and sensitive to the thinking styles of fellow players.

For the player, developing and improving his/her game and making better decisions during key moments, will lead to a better understanding and an overall picture of the game. These are but a few advantages of understanding a player’s whole brain netball profile. Making better whole brain choices will lead to an improved and more fulfilled experience of the game.

Because the focus is on thinking preferences, the end result is neither good nor bad. The NBI® Netball profile is a descriptive and objective analysis of the individual netball player’s thinking preferences, with no profile being better or worse than another. Instead, the report gives a description of the netball player’s thought preferences and makes recommendations based on those.

The NBI® Netball profile measures thinking preferences and not skills or abilities necessary to execute those preferences. It is therefore possible that an individual could have a very strong preference for playing with preciseness and accuracy, but may not have had the opportunity to develop all the skills to accomplish it effectively.

On the other hand, it is possible that a player could have excellent skills and technique, but with a low preference for the processes of the left brain. This could lead to a rejection of the skills learned and a more risky approach to the game. The player will therefore not be able to reach his/her full potential.

This report will give the individual player, the team as well as the coach amazing insight into the influence of the thinking brain on individual and team performance.
